To the Erickson family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that Mark was MUCH more than just a nephew and cousin to all of you. Nobody should minimize all that you did for him. I love you all so much. Jenni

Thank you so much for teaching me the complexity of the human body. I enjoyed working with you so much this past summer, and know you gave everything your best... which is often more than I can say for myself. You have given me much more that I you, and you will forever be in my heart.

To Mark's family: I have worked in the East Towne area for the past 12 years and have seen and interacted (usually just with our smiles) with Mark over the lunch hour. I can recall seeing him many times on State Street. He truly did put miles on! I was so saddened to hear of his passing. A few months ago he was caught up on a curb by Culver's. I stopped and assisted him with the situation. His strength and independence always was evident in his spirit and his eyes. Without even knowing him, he touched my heart. My deepest sympathy to you all and celebrate his life just like he would want you to do.

To Marks family: This summer my daughter had the opportunity to work at Camp Wawbeek as a counselor. It was a life changing experience for her. She could not mention names, but she shared many stories about the campers she assisted. She had an incredible story about a man she met that left a lasting impression with her. She spoke of his wit, his courage, his independence and his incredible ability to communicate so well with everyone, despite the obvious barriers that made it challenging. He also had the ability to make everyone around him laugh. Today I learned the name of that camper as she shared her sorrow with me—it was Mark. He touched the lives of so many. My heart aches for the grief you are experiencing, along with all the unknowns. I pray for your comfort during this very difficult time.
