Obituary
Harold D. ("Red") King ,age 81, a gentle man passed away December 8,2009. Harold was born January 12, 1928, in Plymouth, Wis., to Grace Darling and Philip Harold King. He graduated Plymouth High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and earned BS and MS degrees in agricultural education at UW-Madison. Harold taught high school for three years in Milledgeville, Ill., then joined UW Extension, serving leadership roles in Marinette Co. and broadcasting a farm program for WHA Radio. In 1967 he joined the UW faculty, where he led the Extension publications unit and helped develop Extension computing services, an educational telephone network, and management information systems. After retiring in 1985, he incorporated and helped direct the five-generation family farm. Harold found great joy in learning, in working with his hands, and in sharing his gifts of knowledge and handiwork with others. He loved his family deeply, and taught his family to love deeply, too. He will be remembered always for his faith, gentleness, compassion, wisdom and delight in every person he met, especially children and elders. Survived by Delores, devoted wife of 55 years; siblings Keith (Patricia) King and Barbara (Joe) Cypcar; children Geoff (Tandra Pilgrim), Mary (Paul) Hoff, Kathy (Ben) Newman, John (Lisa Archer), Karen (Bob) Zimmerman; grandchildren Tony, Kate, Dan, Kodiak, Alyssa, Jake, Emily, Katessa, Matt, Rachel, Becca; great-granddaughter Amayah; and dear nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade, Madison at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 11, 2009 with Monsignor Donn Heiar presiding. Committal services will be at St. Michael's Cemetery, Town of Mitchell, Sheboygan County at 12:30 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or to the American Parkinson's Disease Association. The family offers heartfelt thanks to the staff of Waunakee Manor, and HospiceCare.

To the King Family,
My sympathy goes out to the whole King Family on the death of your husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Harold always was full of life and kindness and joy to all he met. He had a special spirit that surrounded him and those around him. I thank God for the opportunity to know and love him and I will thank God dearly for his love and deep appreciation he showed towards Jacob and Emily and all his grandchildren . He will be missed.

appriciated getting reaquainted with
you and Harold the last few years. He was a joy to be around.
Brad and I always enjoyed having lunch
with Harold after the badger games.
