Viola Meeker

Meeker, Viola Marie MADISON-Viola Marie Meeker died on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, following a brief hospitalization. She was born on Aug. 31, 1916, in Rochelle, Ill., the daughter of Elsie and Jerry Rasmussen. Following college, Viola taught in a one room country school for three years. In 1939, she married Lyle E. Meeker. They had a daughter, Judy Mueller of Madison; two granddaughters, Kari and Lisa; and a son, Jerry of Austin, Texas. Marriage to Lyle began a life of traveling, due to his work. They lived in many locations in the United States and several in Europe, and then retirement in Lakeland, Fla. Viola will be buried in Mount Morris, Ill. with her husband.
