Obituary

Wakeley, Patricia M. DEFOREST-Patricia M. Wakeley, age 83, of DeForest, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born on Oct. 11, 1926, in Suffern, N.Y., the daughter of Francis and Catherine (Fitzpatrick) Reilly. Patricia graduated from St. Lukes Nursing School in N.Y. She was a registered nurse for 45 years, working at Veterans Hospital, Central Colony, and Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Madison. On June 14, 1975, she married Dave Wakeley and enjoyed 33 years of marriage. They enjoyed the home they built together in DeForest. After retirement they traveled and enjoyed music shows, theater, and cheering on the Badgers and Packers. Patricia was an avid reader and enjoyed the arts. She is survived by her children, Kirk Shaw of Morrisonville, Rourke Shaw of Windsor and Kendell Walker of Odin, Ill.; stepsons, David of Wilmington, Del., and James of Marshall; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a brother, J. D. Reilly of Zepher Hills, Fla. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Dave; son, Stephen; sister, Cathy; and brother, Frank. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at noon on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to St. Bonaventure Indian Mission & School and veterans organizations.
