Margaret Hauser

Hauser, Margaret MADISON-Margaret Hauser, age 95, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Legacy Gardens Assisted Living Community. She was born on July 5, 1914, in Plain, the daughter of Margaret and Joseph Ferstl. Margaret graduated from St. Lukes High School in Plain, and later moved to Madison and was employed at St. Marys Hospital. She married William N. Hauser on Aug. 27, 1938. Margaret and Bill were long time residents of the Atwood neighborhood, and members of St. Bernard Catholic Church. They were also actively involved in the Goodman Atwood Community Center. Margaret enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and visiting the family cabin in Northern Wisconsin. She is survived by her children, William J. (Karel) Hauser of Alaska, Marjorie A. (Harry) Miller of Madison, and James F. (Polly) Hauser of Iowa;son-in-law, Bob McIntire of Madison; grandchildren, Jean McIntire, Patty Miller, Nancy Brown, Bill G. Hauser, Donna Hauser, Abbie Norderhaug, Ted Miller, Nate Miller, Nick Hauser, and Vanessa Hauser; great-grandchildren, Hillary MacKenzie, Sean McConnell, Ben Miller, Jack Miller, Isaac Brown, Paige Hauser, Kaelynn Hauser, and Clara Hauser;sister, Adele Martinson; and sisters-in-law, Florence Shaw, Fran Roberts, Genevieve Hauser, and Lorraine Ferstl.Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, William N.; daughter, Janet McIntire; sister, Lucille Hartz; and brothers, Phil, John and Francis Ferstl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc., Goodman Atwood Community Center, or St. Bernard Catholic Church. A special thanks to the staff at Legacy Gardens and HospiceCare Inc.
