Faber, Marian IdaMADISON-Marian Ida Faber, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, in Madison. Her beloved brother, Edward, was at her side. She was born on Feb. 28, 1914, in Menominee, Mich., the daughter of Edward P. and Mary M. (Kramer) Faber. Marian taught in Howard\'s Grove, then joined the US Weather Service and was stationed at Ashville, N.C., New Orleans, La., and at their national headquarters in Washington, D.C. With her expertise in math and statistics the Weather Service sent her to St. Petersburg, Russia, where she did research on long range forecasting for the Aeronautics and Space Administration. When her father suffered a stroke she retired and returned to Menominee to care for her parents. In 1994, after both parents had passed away Marian moved to Oakwood Retirement Village in Madison. She was always there for anyone who needed her and was a true Christian. Marian was a devout Catholic, and all her life she found pleasure and peace in attending and participating in church activities. Her favorite recreations were playing bridge and taking long walks in any weather. Marian is survived by her brother, Ed (Dorothy) of Verona; four nephews, Michael (Lynn) of Essex Junction, Vt., Tim (LeAnne) of New Glarus, John (Lori) of Middleton, and David of Martha\'s Vineyard, Mass.; two nieces, Barbara (John) Bloodgood of Denver, Colo., and Anne-Marie (Jeff) Hyland of Verona; nine grandnephews; seven grandnieces; and four great-grandnieces and nephews. Family of Marian: I was blessed to be the pastor at St. Thomas when Marian was still active and she was a true blessing and a fantastic woman of faith. She would walk from oakwood to the church on good days and did that till she went into skill care. a very prayerful woman and I hold the greatest respect for her memory. Fr. Terry
