MADISON/ PEACHTREE CITY, GA- Judith Ann Slinde, of Madison, died suddenly on November 13, 2009, in Peachtree City, GA. Born in Dodgeville, on March 4, 1942, she lived most of her life in Middleton and was presently dividing her time between her homes in Wisconsin and Georgia. A 1960 graduate of Cobb High School, Judie worked for many years in various administrative assistant positions and was employed, before her retirement in 2002, at Cuna Mutual Insurance in Madison. Cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend Judith Holmes was married to Thomas C. Hannon from 1962 to 1972. Judie married her beloved husband Gary Lee Slinde in 1977 and was preceded by him in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents James and Viola Holmes of Cobb. She is survived by her four sons, Thomas J.(Christine) Hannon, Todd(Michelle)Hannon, Tim(Rebecca)Hannon, and Troy(Amber)Hannon all of Peachtree City, GA; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Abby, Keaton, Brandon, Samuel, Chandler, Sidney and Kinsley; sister Patricia (Gerald) Ritchie of Madison; brothers, Richard Holmes of Pasadena, CA and Harvey (Rosie) Holmes also of Madison; and many loving nieces and nephews. She spent the last years of her life enjoying many special times with family and friends. Especially attending the many activities in which her grandchildren participated. The family will receive friends, Sunday, November 15 from 4-6 pm with a memorial service to follow at Mowell Funeral Home, 200 Robinson Road in Peachtree City. Funeral services will be held GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the funeral home.

We will miss Judie's smile and her laughter. She was always so proud of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to all the activities her grandchildren were doing. She kept us up to date as much as possible when she was in GA. I (Sue) will miss our drives to and from GA in the spring and fall. She was a great lady to all who knew and loved her. She will never be forgotten.

It is with great sorrow that I learned of Judie's passing. Though I did not see her frequently, her conversations always expressed her love and pride for her kids & grandkids.
Mothers always hold a special place in our lives and it is always difficult to lose them, no matter their age or yours. Please accept my sympathy and love to your families
