Beatrice Long

Long, Beatrice A. MADISON-Beatrice A. Long, age 65, of Madison, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at HospiceCare. She was born on Sept. 7, 1944, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Arnold H. and Irene J. (Walrath) Haakenstad. Bea married Leland Long on July 6, 1970, in Dubuque, Iowa. She is survived by her children, Dorren Murphy, Jeff (Cheryl) Dorman, Robin Long (Erin), Todd (Mary) Long, "the twins", Diana (Michael) McGilton and Johnnie (Jessica) Long; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Barb Gamer; brother, Frank Haakenstad; and many other family members. Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; parents; and brothers, Robert Haakenstad and James Walrath. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009. A luncheon will follow at the Eagles Club. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday. A graveside service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 2 p.m. on Monday. Cemetery: A graveside service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 2 p.m. on Monday. Visitation: Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
