Obituary

Arpin, Jean (Fritzsinger) MADISON-Jean (Fritzsinger) Arpin, age 87, of Madison passed away peacefully in her sleep, at her home, on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009. She was born on Aug. 12, 1922, in Wisconsin Rapids. Jean married Tom Arpin on Dec. 26, 1941, in San Francisco, Calif. Jean was an executive secretary at Cuna Mutual for many years. She loved gardening, and volunteered at Olbrich Gardens and Grace Episcopal Church Shelter. Jean and her husband enjoyed vacationing in Siesta Key, Fla. for many years. Jean was known for the love of her family and friends. She had a sweet, wonderful smile that was present up until the day she died. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ellis; granddaughter, Kristin \"Kris\" (Scott) Sumbler; grandson, Matt and his fiancee Kristina Dixon; and sister-in-law, Merry Stoll. She is also survived by the Wahtola, Stoll, and Ainslie families and her goddaughter, Jane Ostrem Nordness. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom; daughter, Cynthia; and son, John. Services will be held at ST. LUKES EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 4011 Major Ave., Madison, on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at 4 p.m. Fellowship to follow at the church at 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc. or Olbrich Gardens. The family would like to thanks all the people who cared for Jean and kept her in their thoughts and prayers. The family is grateful to the people who helped during the last part of her life, Karen Baszynski, Hospice personel, and Meriter Home Health Care. We love you, Mom/Gram. Keep smiling.
