Obituary
WINDSOR - Frances L. Mayfield, age 91, of Windsor, died on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Feb. 8, 1918, in Milwaukee, to Carl and Jennie Anderson. Fran married Robert H. Mayfield on Oct. 29, 1941, in Chicago, Ill. They celebrated 62 years of a happy and close marriage. Fran and Bob pulled camping trailers for many years, and since Bobs retirement, spent many happy winter months in Florida, Arizona, and Texas. Bob and Fran bought their home in Windsor in February 1946, where they resided for many years. Fran was able to stay in her own home until November 2008. She cherished the time she spent with family and friends. Fran loved to cook and made many wonderful meals. Her cinnamon rolls and homemade noodles were outstanding. Fran loved to crochet and made many afghans for others. She also enjoyed many kinds of crafts. Fran was a member of the Windsor United Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Mike) McCann of Windsor; son, Robert Mayfield Jr. of Elk Mound; five grandsons, Rory and Evan McCann, and Joshua (Miranda), Aaron (fiancee, Meghan) and Nathan Mayfield; and sister-in-law, Genevieve Anderson. Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sr.; infant daughter, Marsha Kay; sister, Alice Moravek; and brothers, Carl and Clifford Anderson. Funeral services will be held at WINDSOR UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 4434 Second St., Windsor, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, with the Rev. David McDonald presiding. Visitation will be at the church from noon until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Windsor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Windsor United Church of Christ, American Diabetes Foundation, American Heart Association or HospiceCare Inc. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Greg Motl, Dean Medical Center, St. Marys Hospital, Hospice and Waunakee Manor for their wonderful care.

Burial will be at Windsor Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from noon until the time of the service on Thursday.
