Otis Meyers

MADISON - Otis D. Meyers, age 19, of Madison, passed away on Monday,Oct. 26, 2009.He was born on Feb. 10, 1990, in Chicago, Ill., son of Indie Meyers. The kindness, caring and nurturing that was within Otis made him stand out in a crowd. His smile lit up a room and showed his true character. Otis attended Verona Area High School where he was well loved by staff and students. Otis touched all that he came into contact with. His sophomoreyear he worked at Chuck E. Cheese's, where he made everyone smile. He was a master at working with individuals with special needs, treating them with care and respect. He looked at people's abilities rather than their disabilities.Otis leaves behind his supportive family, including his mother, Indie Kelly; stepfather, Rodney Kelly; brothers, Shammond Meyers, Tavon Meyers and Jeffery Freeman; grandmother, Juanita Meyers; uncle, Baraka Meyers; cousins, Isiah Meyers, Benia Meyers, DeJuan, Ashley and Dante Hubert, Kendall Harris, Curtis Lowe and Archie Hall; and a host of family and friends who love and will miss him.Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate monetary donations in his memory.
