Maxine Sholts

Sholts, Maxine R. OREGON-Maxine R. Sholts, age 87, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. She was born on Nov. 7, 1921, in Evansville, the daughter of Alvin and Mary (Parr) Olsen. Maxine graduated from Evansville High School. She married William Sholts on March 17, 1945, in Oregon. Maxine worked for the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and it's Altar Guild, Ladies Aid Society, and also taught Sunday school for many years. Maxine was a member of the Town and Country Women's Club in Oregon and 20/20 Card Club. She is survived by her husband, William; six children, Jerry (Loretta) Sholts of Windsor, Jacie (Paul) Smith of Oregon, Janice (Bill) Durkin of Madison, James (Teresa) Sholts of Stoughton, John (Linda) Sholts of Atkins, Iowa, and Jeffrey (Laura) Sholts of Windsor; 10 grandchildren, Jim D., Julie, Matthew, Joel, Amanda, Peter, Emily, Adam, Kaylyn and Megan.Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Wallace Olsen. Funeral services will be held at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, with the Rev. Jason Hill and the Rev. Jeff VandenHeuvel presiding. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
