Anona Jones

MC FARLAND/MADISON-Anona M. Jones, age 83, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009. She was born December 9, 1925 in Fremont, NB., to John and Metta Gerdes. Anona received her Master degree in Library Science in 1971 and taught in Platteville, McFarland and Middleton. She loved teaching and the children. Her favorite leisure activities were traveling, reading, and watching the Green Bay Packers. One of her most talked about memories was going to the Super Bowl in 1998 with her nephew, John.Anona is survived by her sons Alan (Sandy) and Gary (Kay), grandchildren Kathy (Tom), Alex and Magin (Jeff), and twin great-grandsons Nick and Jack and great-granddaughters Riley and Camryn. She is also survived by her brother John (Carolyn), many nieces and nephews, her step-daughter Nancy (Ron) and step grandsons, Patrick and Christopher. Anona was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Jones and Walter (Bud) White.Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME,7435 University Ave., Middleton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer\'s Association, 517 N.
