Obituary

Tranchita, Leonard B. MADISON-Leonard B. Tranchita, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009. He was born on Oct. 18, 1916, in Madison, the son of Vincent and Josephine Tranchita. Leonard served in the U. S. Navy. He married Frances LaBruzzo on Sept. 9, 1935. Leonard and his brother Tony owned a barbershop business in Madison for many years. He enjoyed golfing, playing accordion in small bands, fishing, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, and traveling the states and abroad. Leonard is survived by his children, Josephine (Ralph) Spoerle of Hot Springs, Ark., Nina Eddy of Madison, Vincent (Kathy) Tranchita of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Peter (JoAnn) Tranchita of DeForest; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances; a daughter, Dolores Kepler; brother, Tony Tranchita; and sister, Rose Fiore. A Memorial Mass will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Endowment Fund. Service: A Memorial Mass will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, with Father John Meinholz presiding.
