Peter Bach

Bach, Peter V. MADISON - Peter V. Bach, age 77, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at the Willows in Sun Prairie. He was born on May 26, 1932, in Richland County, the son of Vern and Sophia (Havlik) Bach. Peter graduated from Lone Rock High School in 1950 and attended Platteville Mining School until he was drafted. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Peter married Marguerite Jeane Bahr on June 18, 1955, in Avoca at St. Johns Lutheran Church. He worked for the Department of Transportation in Madison until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and shared his love of nature with everyone he met. Peter is survived by his son, Gary (Hilary) of Bastrop, Texas;two daughters, Gail of New York City, and Brenda of Madison; two sisters, Patricia (Delano) Gilbertson of Clyde, and Mary Lou Smith of Superior; two aunts, Ruth Williams of Illinois, and Grace Bach of Madison/ Spring Green; great-uncle, Harry Bach of Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Jeane. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Muscoda Cemetery at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation. He was greatly loved and we will miss him.
