Obituary
Cross Plains - Paul J. Weichbrod, age 77, passed away on Saturday September 12, 2009 at HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg. He was born July 17, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Paul M. And Bernice V. (Long) Weichbrod. Paul served his Country in the United States Army after the Korean War. He married Ardyce Squires on October 9, 1970 in Rockford Illinois. Paul is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cross Plains. Paul was a Master Electronic Technician for RCA for 22 years, and subsequently for Monroe TV and Appliance for 20 years before partial retirement and then fully retired over the last 8 monthes due to illness. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with family, especially grandkids. He enjoyed going for walks with his dog Trixie.\r\n
Paul is survived by his wife Ardyce Weichbrod, children; Lorie(Greg) Ballweg of Black Earth, Pam(Tom Wirth) Tierney of Roxbury, Paulette(Dan) Sprecher of Cross Plains, and Paul(Emily) Weichbrod of Monroe. His grandchildren; Brian(Jessica) Ballweg, Daniel (Krystle) Ballweg, Travis(Jessica) Tierney, Kayla(Chad) Tierney, Hope Tierney, Aaron Tierney, Blake Sprecher, and Miranda Sprecher. Great Grandchildren; Dylan, Quinn, Kamryn and Sean. And his loyal dog Trixie. Brothers; Don(Eileen) Weichbrod, Ralph (Judy) Weichbrod, Fred Weichbrod and sister Carol Weichbrod. Paul is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.\r\n
He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Bernice(Long) Weichbrod, and one sister Lorraine.\r\n
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes Street, Cross Plains, at 5:00 PM on Wednesday September 16, 2009 with Fr. Tom Kelley. Inurnment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Cross Plains. Friends may call from 3:00 PM until the time of the service at the Church on Wedneday.\r\n
The family would like to thank Fr. Tom Kelley and Sr. John Rose Acker for all the love and care of Paul, and also a thank you to the nurses of HospiceCare Inc. for their compassion and care.\r\n
