MADISON-Millard F. Chase, age 97, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Good Samaritan Home in Lodi. He was born on Oct. 1, 1911, in Winchester, Mass., the son of Millard Chase Sr. and Maude (Pennel) Chase. Millard married Marion Carlson on Dec. 2, 1934. She preceded him in death in 2004. Millard worked at Madison Gas & Electric, Bowman Dairy, and C & P Garden Center. He was a charter member of Lake Edge United Church of Christ. Millard was an avid golfer and bowler. He is survived by three children, Philip (Shirley) Chase, Susan Gedko, and David (Donna) Chase; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Millard was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Dan Gedko; brothers, William, Alfred, Richard and Robert; and a sister, Madeline. Private services will be held. Millard was like my best friend, and could always make my day better if i was not having a good day.He was the reason i enjoyed going to work,I am glad i have had the pleasure to get to know him in the past year. I enjoyed taking him outside and just talking with him and the long lasting memories of Millard. My heart will always have a place for him, he is very much missed.
