Teresa DiPiazza

DiPiazza, Teresa M. MADISON-Teresa M. DiPiazza, age 95, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009. She was born of Sicilian heritage on June 8, 1914, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Andrea and Angelina DiPiazza. Teresa married Joseph DiPiazza on June 12, 1937, in Madison. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital in the newborn nursery for 14 years prior to her retirement. Teresa enjoyed visiting with family, speaking in Sicilian, as well as baking Sicilian cookies. She is survived by her husband and dance partner for 72 years, Giuseppe "Joseph"; a sister, Ann Ales; and brothers, Frank (Rose) DiPiazza and Sam DiPiazza. Teresa is further survived by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great, great-great, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe and Tom; and a sister, Laura Kurtz. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding.
