Margaret Brown

Brown, Margaret Lillian FITCHBURG/OREGON-Margaret Lillian Brown R. N., age 85, died on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, in Oregon. She was born on May 3, 1924, in Springfield, Mass., the daughter of George and May Webber. Margaret graduated from South Weymouth High School, Massachusetts in 1942 and Newton-Wellesley Hospital, School of Nursing, Massachusetts in 1945. She married A. Barton Brown on Sept. 24, 1945. Margaret was an active registered nurse in hospitals, doctor offices, ophthalmology and gastroenterology, retiring from Cleveland Clinic in 1985. She lived in Palm Bay, Fla. from 1985 until 1998 and then moved to Fitchburg in 1998. Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church in Eau Claire. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. A. Barton Brown of Fitchburg; four children, Stephen D. (Laurel) Brown of Fitchburg, David M. (Ellen) Brown of Pickerington, Ohio, Paul J. (Deb) Brown of Sun Prairie, and Rebecca (Bob) Phillips of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Matthew, Andy, Nathan, Maggie, Abigail, Alex and Hannah; and a great-grandson, Canaan. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, George and May Webber; and a sister, Florence MacCormack. Private family services were held.
