Mary Meloy

MELOY, MARY KAY MADISON - Mary Kay Meloy, age 82, of Madison passed away on Saturday August 15, 2009 at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison. She was born May 11, 1927 in Benton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bert and Catherine (Gough) Meloy. Mary Kay is a 1946 graduate of St. Clara Academy in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. Mary Kay worked for many years at Dubuque Packing Company before devoting a large portion of her life to care for her mother, sister and others. She was also a housekeeper for her brother, Rev. Bernard F. Meloy during his parish assignments while he was a pastor at Catholic parishes in Dickeyville and Boscobel. She was a woman of incredible faith, and she will be greatly missed by countless friends and relatives who benefitted from her kindness and home cooking. Mary Kay is survived by her two sisters-in-law; Barbara Meloy of Platteville, and Marie Meloy of Indianapolis, Indiana, 11 nieces and nephews, 22 great nieces and nephews, and cousin Claribel Burke of Darlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Rev. Bernard F. Meloy, Joseph Meloy and Frank Meloy, and her sister Jane Meloy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave. Madison, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday August 19. 2009 with Monsignor Michael L. Burke presiding. Burial will take place at 3:30 PM on Wednesday in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Benton, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at St. Maria Goretti Church on Wednesday.
