Obituary
Bertin, Eleanor B.
MONONA-Eleanor B. Bertin, age 93, of Monona, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at her home. She was born on Nov. 18, 1915, in Montello, the daughter of August and Hulda Radke. Eleanor married Verne Bertin on May 11, 1941, in Montello. Verne preceded her in death in 2007. Eleanor was a loving, supportive caregiver prior to his death. She was a member of Eastside Lutheran Church. Eleanor enjoyed being at the cottage near Lake Tomahawk for many years, crocheting, sharing her quilts with friends and family, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always concerned about others, putting others before herself. With the help of family and caring neighbors, the Millers, Eleanor was able to stay at home. She is survived by her son, Lavern "Butch" (Kathy) Bertin of Middleton; daughter, Ronna Bertin-Richie of Sun Prairie; two grandchildren, Michele (Randy) Niesen of Belleville, and Stephanie Bertin of Oregon; two great-grandsons, Noah and Logan; and a sister, Lorraine Caves of Oshkosh. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Verne; and a son-in-law, Dennis Richie. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at noon on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, with the Rev. Glen Schmiege presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. "Mom, Grandma, friend, you will be in our hearts forever."
