Lemke, Michael M.MADISON - Michael M. Lemke, age 57, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, after a long battle with Alzheimer's He was born on Jan. 22, 1952, in Madison, the son of Milton and Lucille (DeRider) Lemke. Mike married Rose Rosas in Madison on Aug. 11, 1973. He worked at Webcrafters for more than 20 years. Mike was an avid football fan and enjoyed cooking out and spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor and his gracious smile that would brighten everyone's day. Nothing was more important though than his family, which included his wife, Rose;two sons, Damon (Jennifer Peplinski) Lemke, and Shawn Lemke;two granddaughters, Tailyn Lemke and Gianna Lucille Lemke; and a brother, Mark. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at noon, on Friday, Aug.28, 2009. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009. Mike was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed and always remembered. The family would like to thank HospiceCare and Kindred Hearts for their care and support given to Mike and his family during his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to HospiceCare Inc., Alzheimer's Association, or Kindred Hearts in Cottage Grove.
