Obituary
Hull, Helen M.MADISON-Helen M. Hull, age 97, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2009, in her home at Oakwood East. She was born on Oct. 18, 1911, to Iva (Edwards) and Lloyd Haynes on a small farm just outside of Pardeeville. While a small child her father died and she was later adopted by her mother\'s new husband, Fred W. Hull. Helen was married to her high-school sweetheart, Clarence R. Hull, on Sept. 26, 1931 at Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Montello. She worked as a secretary for the University of Wisconsin retiring in 1976. She was an accomplished musician, accompanying many choirs and singing groups. Helen was an organist for Parkside Presbyterian Church for many years and later played for the Monona Senior Chorus, Oakwood East choir and for their bible study. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (John) Gordon of Madison; a son, Robert (Ellen) Hull of Sun Prairie, five grandchildren, Mary (John) Yentz, Brenda (Brian) Guerin, Debra (William) Goddard, Rebecca (Paul) Tidberg, Richard (Adrienne) Hull, 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Edith McAusland of Madison, Phyllis (Allen) Turner of Montello; and a brother-in-law, Leslie Hull of Markesan. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held at OAKWOOD EAST CHAPEL, 5565 Tancho Drive, on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Paul Bawden and Douglas Locken officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care or the Oakwood Foundation. The family would like to thank the many people at Oakwood East and Hospice for their love and kindness to Helen and her family during this difficult time.
