Francis Koch

Koch, Francis X.MADISON-Francis X. Koch, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at HospiceCare Inc. He was born on June 29, 1923, in Martinsville, the eldest of seven children of Melchoir and Mary (Kruchten) Koch. Francis married Mary Morschauser on Oct. 25, 1958, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Sun Prairie. He worked at the Madison Labor Temple for 30 years, retiring in 1988. Francis was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church since 1958. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and working on cars. Francis is survived by his wife, Mary; two children, Roger (Martina) Koch of Middleton, and Rosetta (Todd) Hockett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Steve (Becky) Koch of Fall River, Jeffery Koch of Madison, and Ryan Koch of Milwaukee; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Bryan Koch; a brother, Jerome (Joan) Koch of Waunakee; sisters, Lorretta (Wendelin) Maier of Cross Plains, and Geraldine (Jack) Laufenberg of Waunakee; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John; and sisters, Agnes (Adam) Kohlman and Bernadette (Eugene) Breunig. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, with a Rosary prayer at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc.
