Erma Geil

Geil, Erma E.MONONA-Erma E. Geil, age 93, of Monona, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Skaalen Home. She was born on Feb. 17, 1916 in Clarno, to Fred and Mabel (Albright) Miller. She worked many years in various retail positions. On April 27, 1938, Erma was united in marriage to Ivan M. Geil in Marion, Iowa. They lived in Monroe and moved to Madison about 1950. Erma was a charter member of St. Stephen\'s Lutheran Church of Monona. She is survived her daughters, Virginia (Paul) Killerlain of Oregon, Kathy (Jimmy) Cass of Cambridge; son, Gary (Joanne) Geil of Madison; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; her parents; four brothers, Gilbert, Harold, Wilbert and Donald Miller; sisters, Vera Prien and Viola Deemer; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Geil. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Cemetery: Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
