Lewis, Katherine "Kay"
MADISON-Kay Lewis, age 87, of Madison, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love and comfort on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at her home. She was born on July 17, 1921, in Edmund, the daughter of Jacob and Josephine Sablak. Kay married Al Lewis on July 3, 1950 and together raised their family in Madison. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (John) Birrenkott, Debbie (Gene) Mahlum, Diane (Jack) Shroble, and Mary Lewis; a son, Rick Lewis;grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and brother, George Sablak. Kay leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al; son, Jim Lewis; a granddaughter, Roseanna Lewis; brother, Joseph Sablak; and sisters, Marie Sablak and Ann Korback. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PETERS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2009, with Father Roger Nilles presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Kari and I are very sorry you lost your Mom. Kay was a special lady and will be missed. I remember our friendship fondly going back to the Program days.
