Saeger, Frances Jeanne\r\n
MONONA-Frances Jeanne Saeger, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Jeanne was born in Madison, on Aug. 30, 1920, the daughter of Jesse and Alma Scafe. She graduated from Madison East High School and attended Madison Business College. Jeanne married her soulmate Douglas Saeger in 1945 and they were married 31 years before he passed in 1976. She retired from the state of Wisconsin in 1986, but continued working by volunteering at places such as the Red Cross and Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Jeanne enjoyed the simple things in life. A game of euchre or bridge with friends, bus trips to play blackjack, Brewers on the radio, and Packers on the TV. She enjoyed traveling, cooking dinners for family gatherings, and soaking up the sun in a lounge chair on her pier. Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Judy Sorenson and Catherine Johnson; her grandchildren, Kirk (Kristen) Sorenson, Lynnda (Duane) Ehlke, and Erin Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Halle, Charlie and Shelby. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doug; brother, Jack; and a special great-granddaughter, Carlee Anna. Funeral services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009, with the Rev. Marshall Norman presiding. Visitation will be at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. or Olbrich Botanical Gardens.
