Young, Richard J.MADISON - Richard J. Young, age 80, of Madison passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at home, with his wife by his side. He was born on January 25, 1929 in Green Bay, the son of Walter and Isabel Young. Richard married the love of his life Bonnie "Bonita" Belleau on May 5, 1956 and together they had three children. He was a long-time entrepreneur in the Madison area and owned several businesses throughout his career. Richard loved to spend time at his cottage on Lake Wisconsin, where everyone enjoyed his cooking skills. He also took great pride in watching his grandsons at the racetrack. Richard will be remembered most for his strong devotion to his family, the special bond he had with his grandchildren, and his extreme generosity. He will be greatly missed by his beloved, four-legged friends, BJ and Taz. Richard is survived by his wife; daughter, Holly Wing of Cottage Grove; son, Thomas Young of Baraboo; five grandchildren, Jon Hanson, Blake Young, Stephanie Young, Heather Wing, and Melissa Wing; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Hanson; three sisters, Lucille Konrad of New London, Margaret (Gib) Krueger of Greenville, and Jean (Mike) Bellile of Hortonville; four brothers, Duaine (Evelyn) Young of Baraboo, Harold (Audrey) Young, Robert (Carol) Young of Bear Creek, and LeRoy (Noreen) Young of Black Creek; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Steven Young. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, on Friday, July 24, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Father Lance Schneider presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and also on Friday from 1p.m. until the time of the service.
