Donald Venden

VENDEN DONALD W. BRODHEAD-Donald W. Venden, age 65, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital, Madison after a courageous battle with chronic lymphoma and leukemia. He was born on Feb. 9, 1944 in Dodgeville, the son of Willard and Norma (Knudtson) Venden. Don was united in marriage to June Leggett on March 6, 1963. She preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 1997. Don worked as a plumber for over 40 years and was a member of the Plumbers Local -Seventy Five. He had a variety of interests including golfing, hunting, trap shooting, archery, gardening and was an avid Harley rider. Don is survived by his children, James C. Venden, Steven W. (Christine) and Tina Mae Venden; his mother, Norma; two grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Venden and Alexis Nicole Venden; a great-grandchild, Chase David James Venden; two brothers, Stanley (Bonnie) Venden and Ronald (Marie) Venden; a uncle Norman (Gladys) Venden and a aunt, Helen Lindl. In addition to his wife June, Don was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey and his father Willard Venden. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2009 with the Reverend Nicole Espe presiding. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the funeral home.
