Shirley Johnson

Johnson, Shirley A.OREGON/BROOKLYN-Shirley A. Johnson, age 80, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center. She was born on Jan. 14, 1929, in Attica, Wis., the daughter of Alvin and Anna (Zimmerli) Petersen. Shirley graduated from Albany High School. She worked at United Bank and Trust and retired from Wisconsin Bankers Association. Shirley enjoyed her friendship and modeling she did for Bon Don Hair Salon. She loved to travel and enjoyed being the organizer of family reunions and gatherings. Shirley is survived by her long time companion, Harvey Smith of Oregon; her children, Jim Johnson of Fitchburg, and Nancy Johnson (Mike Tanner Jr.) of Lyndon Station; grandchildren, Brandon Roberts, Lindsay (James) Patterson, Jamie Burkhalter, and Megan Johnson; and a great-grandson, Lennon Patterson. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kim Elizabeth Johnson; a brother, Nelson Petersen; and three sisters, Phyllis Dunphy, Betty Alderson and Joann Karlen. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2009. A special thank you to HospiceCare. Shirley touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
