Anne Cloutier

Cloutier, Anne JulieneMADISON-Anne Juliene Cloutier, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center. She was born on Feb. 24, 1923, in Bloomer, the daughter of Sigrid and Torvold Sherman. Anne attended grade school in the country, in the town of Woodmohr. She attended high school in Bloomer, graduating in 1941. Anne met Eugene Cloutier and married in March 1942, in Gardenerville, Nev. They lived in New London, Conn. for two and a half years, while Eugene was stationed on submarine duty during World War II. In 1945, they moved to Madison. Anne loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were so very special to her, along with her great-grandchildren. She was the best babysitter when they were little (remember the shampoos). Anne enjoyed the time spent at Burke Lutheran Church, helping with the lefse and lutefisk dinners. Anne is survived by her daughter, Sharon Petitt; son, Gary \"Frenchy\" (Darlene) Cloutier; grandchildren, Julie (Randy) Wagner, Jayson (Wendy) Jones, Justine (Al) Mascari, Cory Cloutier, and Ramie (Rebecca) Ramsden; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Sonny (Janette) Sherman, and Clayton Sherman; a sister, Lola (Palmer) Paulson; and sister-in-law, Ollie Sherman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; two brothers; and a sister. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009, with the Rev. Russ Leeper presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. We would like to thank HospiceCare for the wonderful care Anne was given. Also, we would like to especially thank Wendy Jones for all the extra time and effort she gave \"Grandma\" over the last year. We know it meant the world to Anne.
