Obituary

Peck, Homer M.MADISON - Homer M. Peck, age 91, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009. He was born on Dec. 6, 1917 in Marshall, the son of Henry M. and Zara (Calkins) Peck. Homer married Betty Bennett on Aug. 9, 1942. He graduated form Marshall High School and from UW-Madison School of Agriculture. Homer served in the U.S. Army. He was a lieutenant and was stationed in Alaska, working on the ALCAN Highway. Homer retired from the State of Wisconsin Dept. Of Transportation. He enjoyed carpentry, building clocks and birdhouses, hunting and planting trees. Homer was always helping family and friends. Homer is survived by his children, Jim (Karen) Peck, Terry (Barbara) Peck, Nancy (Dave) Wattles and Kathy Bardsley;seven grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Wiltgen, Tracy (Jason) Parker, Benjamin (Tricia) Peck, Jesse Peck, Katie and Christopher Wattles, and Chase Bardsley; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Margaret Wiltgen; one great-grandson, Grant Parker; and two brothers, David (Carol) Peck and Wallace (Marge) Peck. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 2005; daughter, Kristy, in 1975; parents, Henry and Zara; brothers, Robert and Norman Peck; and sister, Dorothy LaToundress. Private funeral services will be held. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 18, 2009. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Harmony Assisted Living in McFarland for the care they gave Homer. Cemetery: Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation: A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 18, 2009. Service: Private funeral services will be held.
