Betty Geary

Geary, Betty Ann MADISON- Betty A. Geary, age 71, went to heaven on Sunday, June 7, 2009, after fighting a courageous battle with ALS. While dealing with this terrible disease, she always remained a kind and friendly person to all. Betty was born on Nov. 25, 1937, the daughter of Myrtle and Gilman Olson of Cambridge. She married Walter Lee Geary of Madison on Oct. 18, 1958. Betty enjoyed trips to the casino, her collection of bear figurines, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a people person, always striking up a conversation. Betty believed in a small world. Betty is survived by her husband of 50 years, Walter; her three children, Leann (Rick) Winters of Sun Prairie, Kelly Geary (Sue Rowin) of DeForest and Keith Geary of Madison; two grandsons, Gary and Mike Winters of Sun Prairie; two brothers, Gerald (Myrna) and Lee (Deb) Olson, all of Cambridge; cousin, Ron Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her nephew, Lee Olson Jr. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon, on Thursday, June 11, 2009. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held at the funeral home, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
