Thomas Ashman

MIDDLETON-Thomas L. Ashman, age 83, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2009. He was born in Madison, on October 14, 1925, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Ashman. Tom was a graduate of West High School and had lived with his parents helping with gardening and orchard work. He also worked as a assistant for a filling station for many years prior to working for the state as a supervisor with the cleaning crews. Tom had a variety of interests including birds and joined the Audubon Society where he led birding tours. He joined Christmas bird counting for many years, was a Cubs fan and a euchre player. Tom is survived by his sister, Marian; nieces, Connie (Bill) Weiss, Laurie (Norman) Peccini and Phoebe Wilde; nephew, Jonathan Wilde; two great nieces, cousins and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Stephen Ashman and two sisters, Helen Wilde and Margaret Huff. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Private burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 (Noon) until the time of the service at the funeral home.
