Sophie Rood

Rood, Sophie E. MADISON-Sophie E. Rood, age 97, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on Nov. 4, 1911, in Hopkins, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Merkle) Edwards. Sophie married Harold Rood on Aug.13, 1938, in Missouri. She worked for Oscar Mayer in the production line for 23 years. Sophie also worked at Rayovac Batteries during World War II. She is survived by her son, Roger Rood of Madison. Sophie was preceded in death by her husband; and a sister Caroline Wiseman. Private services will be held. Service: Private services will be held.
