Obituary

Kruchten, Dorothy J. MADISON-Dorothy J. Kruchten, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Dorothy J. Kruchten, age 87, of Madison, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital, surrounded by her family after a sudden illness. Born March 31, 1922, in Ashton, the daughter of Harvey and Lillian (Zeman) Bram. Dorothy married Elmer Kruchten on April 8, 1945. They farmed in Cottage Grove for more than 30 years. Dorothy graduated from Middleton High School and Columbia County Normal. She was a school teacher in a one-room schoolhouse near Dane. She worked for the State of Wisconsin for more than 25 years, as well as part-time at The Emporium, Cecils Sandals, and Ben Franklin. Dorothy entertained as "Happy the Clown" for the Eagles Club for many years, attending parties and parades. She loved to play euchre at WilMar and the Monona Community Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening. Dorothy is survived by her four children, Suzanne Michalski of Benbrook, Texas, Sanderson (Diana) Kruchten of McFarland, Monica (Thomas) Lynch of Loves Park, Ill., and Thomas Kruchten of Bowie, Md.; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Diana) Stanley of Elk Grove, Calif., Mark Stanley of U.S. Army, David (Amy) Lynch of South Beloit, Ill., Matthew (Amber) Lynch of MaChesney Park, Ill., Tracy Kruchten of Bloomington, Minn., Jacob Kruchten of McFarland, and Mark Kruchten of McFarland; a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Stanley of Elk Grove, Calif.; a brother, Elmer Bram of Madison; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Kruchten; mother, Lillian Bram; father, Harvey Bram; and sister, Leona Robb. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road., Madison, on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 11 a.m., with Father Lance Schneider presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made in Dorothys name to St. Dennis Catholic Church. Cemetery: Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
