Obituary

Engelhart, Arlene Rae (Schwoegler) 77, Madison, Oregon, N. Fort Myers, FL, began her journey to her heavenly home on May 29, 2009 surrounded by her loving family at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers, FL. She was born on December 11, 1931 in Madison, WI the daughter of Raymond and Betty (Johnson) Schwoegler. She married the love of her life Richard Engelhart on June 4, 1960. Arlene graduated from Edgewood High School in June, 1950. She was employed as a candy striper for St. Marys Hospital. She also worked for the Madison Drug Co. as an office assistant. When she married Rich they had 8 children and together they agreed she would be a homemaker (household engineer). After her youngest child began school she cared for other children in her home, which she embraced for 25 years. Her love for others continued on as she helped nurture her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arlenes first and foremost love was her family and her love for others was unconditional. She also enjoyed years at the family cottage in northern Wisconsin, entertaining friends and family, waterskiing, swimming and fishing, along with snowmobiling. She and Rich traveled extensively in the Western and Canadian Rockies on their motorcycle. After retirement to Florida in 1996 they took several cruises which included Alaska, Spain, Northern Africa, Antigua, Eastern and Western Caribbean, Mexico, Panama Canal along with the Canadian and Maritime Provinces. She loved to socialize with her Red Hat Ladies Club and many other friends at the Heritage Retirement Community. Arlene is survived by her soul mate Richard, her children, Joanne (George) Weber of Cross Plains, Stephanie Engelhart-Olson(Brian Brandstetter, significant other) of Deforest, Cheryl ( Perry) Jones of Oregon, Lea Ann (Jerry) Wackett of Oregon, Brian (Laura) Engelhart of Oregon, Todd Engelhart of Oregon, Wade (Pam) Engelhart of Oregon. She is survived by her sister Donna Scoville of Oregon, 18 grandchildren, Jason (Stacie), James, Trisha (Randy), Nicole, Hunter, Stacy, Anthony, Tyler, Nicholas, Jared, Jessica, Jordan, Sydney, Samantha, Morgan, Haley, Jacob, Noah, 13 great grandchildren Aiden, Logan, Autumn, Seth, Kayla, Brandy, Luke, Riley, Kaden, Isaiah, Iyanah, Shilah, Abigail, many nieces, nephews and special friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father in law Herbert and Lorena, grandparents, her brother Tom and sister in law Nancy, her sister Katherine, her beloved son Dick, her granddaughter Erin, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A celebration of her life will be held on June 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Mother of Consolation Church, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, WI, with Father Bill Connell officiating.
