Rosemary Cunningham

Cunningham, Rosemary MADISON-Rosemary Cunningham, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at HospiceCare. She was born on June 8, 1932, the daughter of Rufus and Jeanette (Teach) Gasser. She married Donald Cunningham on May 20, 1951, at Madison Truax Air Force Base Chapel. Rosemary worked for 35 years at Oscar Mayer Foods retiring in October 1984. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary and Honor Guard of the VFW Post 7591. Rosemary enjoyed gardening, bowling, traveling, and walking her dog, she would walk five, six miles a day. She is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Debra Kay Wingfield, Theresa (Larry) Soerens, and Jeff (Cathie) Cunningham; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Richard) Wigdal; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and LaVerne "Bud" Gasser; a granddaughter, Jeanette Peschl; and grandson, Donald Peschl III. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, on Friday, May 29, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. John Ruppenthal presiding. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 28, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a pass in review by the VFW Post 7591 Ladies Auxiliary at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 7591 Auxiliary.
