Obituary

McDonald, Dorothy Welke MADISON-Dorothy Welke McDonald of Madison, died Thursday, May 14, 2009, in Poynette. She was born in Lime Ridge on April 24, 1920. She was a lifelong Madison east sider. Dorothy Elizabeth Welke McDonald was born with energy, quickness and stamina and lived responsibly, generously and optimistically. She was a professional clerical in government, business and church work. Dorothy volunteered in her church, with the Girl Scouts, at parent/teacher associations, special arts organization, hospitals, Masonic and other charities. She led scout troops, high school P.T.A. and Eastern Star chapters. Dorothy expressed herself through music (piano and dance) and in keeping a gracious home. She married a McDonald sense of humor and surprised all with a love of travel - Montana, Hawaii, Europe. Her zest for life included camping, flying lessons and a red convertible. She taught hard work, joyful play, loyal friendship and giving back all we can; a life well lived. Dorothy is survived by her children, Elizabeth Welke McDonald of Madison, Roberta S.
