Peter Thacker

MIDDLETON-Peter "Pete" L. Thacker, age 54, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. He was born on July 7, 1954, in Madison, the son of John and Donna (King) Thacker. Pete was united in marriage to Christine Berg on May 8, 1982, in Belleville. He owned and operated Bennetts Service Station in Middleton. Pete loved people and was happiest whenever he could help. He was amazing with cars and enjoyed snowmobiling and boating, but treasured most spending time at his cabin in the northwoods . Pete is survived by his wife of 26 years, Chris Berg Thacker, of Middleton; his mother, Donna (Duane) Hohneke, of Prescott, Arizona; two sisters, Mary Thacker ,of Dallas, Texas, Michelle (Clifford) Ogden, of Cross Plains and three nieces and nephews who adored their uncle, John, Jessica and Jason Ogden. He was preceded in death by his father, John Thacker. Funeral services will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave, Middleton at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, April 13, 2009 at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave, Middleton.
