Donald Peterson

Peterson, Donald Forrest MADISON-Donald Forrest Peterson, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Donald was born on July 27, 1931, to Forrest and Valeska (Krueger) Peterson, in Northern Wisconsin. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. Donald married his childhood sweetheart, Phyllis Krumbach, on June 6, 1951. He and Phyllis settled in Wisconsin where they raised four children. Donald received a degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He taught high school science and coached football. Donald then moved on to become successful in the business world. Donald and Phyllis enjoyed retirement years in Arizona, Hawaii, and Wisconsin and also enjoyed many trips together around the world. A highlight of Dons later years was bringing his children and grandchildren together from around the USA for trips to Jamaica, Hawaii, and on a Caribbean cruise. He was an avid golfer, and Badgers, Packers, and Brewers fan. Donald is survived by his wife, Phyllis; four children, Kathryn (Scott) Kilian of Colorado, Karen Halverson of Waunakee, Ken Peterson of McFarland, and Kurt (Maria) Peterson of Madison; and his beloved grandchildren, Brian Healy of Colorado, Erin Healy of California, Grant Halverson of Waunakee, Taylor and Brynley Peterson of Madison, and Emma Kilian of Colorado. A memorial service will be held at MONONA EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4411 Monona Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009, with the Rev. William Pekari presiding.
