Obituary

MADISON-Arnold P. "Arnie" Federer, age 91, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Trinity Senior Homes. He was born on April 20, 1918, in Three Lakes, the son of William and Lois (Bonack) Federer. Arnie married Ruby Stallman in Madison. He was a self-employed builder, and then worked in building maintenance for the University of Wisconsin. Arnie was a member of Eastside Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking. Arnie is survived by his sons, Paul (Betty) Federer of Sun Prairie, Bill (Anna) Federer of Endeavor, and Larry (Lynn) Federer of DeForest; a daughter, Mary Federer of DeForest; granddaughter, Stacie (Bill) Prochaska; and great-grandchildren, Brenna, Clark and Morgan, all of Arena. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; his parents; a son, Douglas Federer; three brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, with the Rev. Jerry Ewings presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to Lord of Love Lutheran Church, Eastside Evangelical Lutheran Church or Olbrich Botanical Gardens. A special thanks to the staff at Trinity Senior Homes.
