Rose Arnold

Arnold, Rose Marie OREGON-Rose Marie Arnold, age 72, of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at St. Marys Care Center. She was born on April 23, 1936, in Waukesha, the daughter of Elizabeth Bliemeister Bartelmas. Rose graduated from Waukesha Central High School, received a bachelors degree from UW-Madison and masters degree in library science from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She married Edward W. Arnold on Aug. 25, 1956, at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Waukesha. Rose retired in 2007, after 30 years at the Legislative Reference Bureau in Madison. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, was an avid fan of science fiction movies and was an original "Trekkie." In the last years of her life, Rose greatly enjoyed her grandchildren. Rose is survived by her six children, Kathleen Arnold of Madison, Peter (Christine) Arnold of Cottage Grove, Julie (Pat Godin) Arnold of Trescott, Maine, John (Mary) Arnold of Blue Mounds, Steven (Khristan) Arnold of Winchester, Va., and Michael (Tanya) Arnold of Cross Plains; and ten grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Zami, Kira, Elizabeth, Ryan, Owen, Natalie, Makena and Aaron. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward W. Arnold; and half-brother, G. Ken Parker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009, with Father Bill Connell presiding. Burial will be at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery in Altdorf. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009.
