Howard Bohlander

MADISON-Howard J. Bohlander, age 90, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. He was born on April 8, 1929 in Hinsdale, IL., the son of Frank and Mae Bohlander. Howard was united in marriage to Elizabeth Tuskey. She preceded him in death in 2003. He was a veteran of World War II, having proudly served his country in the United States Army. For 45 years, Howard worked as a mechanical engineer with the Electromotive Division of General Motors, retiring in 1987. Howard truly enjoyed the outdoors, but treasured most the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Paul) Bloom; a son, Howard "Jim" (Cheryl) Bohlander; three grandchildren, Julie and Jeff Bloom and Robin Bohlander; a step-granddaughter Diana Goodman. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Barry Bohlander, two brothers, George and Jerry Bohlander and a sister, Ruth Baumann. Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Santa Fe Community Foundation, Shed A Light Fund, PO box 1827, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87504-1827.
