William Melter

Melter, William E. MADISON/OCALA, FLA.-Early Sunday morning on April 26, 2009, William E. Melter, 87, of Madison, died of complications from pneumonia. He was born to Edward and Della Melter on Jan. 30, 1922, in Madison. Bill reunited with Ruth Johnson and her three children, Aug. 26, 1967. After retiring, Ruth and Bill lived 23 years in Ocala, Fla. He leaves behind his family in Florida, Richard and Sherry Johnson, Sarah Hutchison, and Mike and Jennifer Johnson. In Arizona is Sharon Bublitz, Christopher, Kristine, Michael and Matthew Oless, and Adrian, Kim, Leigha, Sophia and Alex Bunta. The Jorgensens, Carleen, Chad and Brian, in Wisconsin; along with his wife, Ruth of 41 years. Also, nephews, Bob and Craig; nieces, Patricia, Nancy and Tammy; and brother, Duane. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Harold and Robert Sr. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009, with a service following at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Parkinsons Disease Association, Alzheimers Association or Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the healthcare professionals at the VA Hospital/Clinic, who gave such good care to Bill over these last few years.
