Jessie Crawford

Crawford, Jessie Lee MADISON-Jessie Lee Crawford, age 78, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center. She was born on Oct. 25, 1930, in Birmingham, Ala., the daughter of Georgia Moore. Jessie married James Crawford in 1944, in Alabama. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who had a way of making everyone feel special. Jessie loved gardening, and her faith was very important to her. She is survived by her sons, James (Barbara), Michael, Terry (Pat), Larry (Donna), and Tommie; grandchildren, James, Robin, Yolanda, Angenette, Latonya, Diallo, Daniel (Tammy), Larry, Dionte, ShaRon, Tasheda, Jeanette and Dewon; great-grandchildren, Ashanti, Jamea, Shad, Sadedra, Schtara, Jordan, Shanica, Christian, Ethan, Jasmine, Jade, Mattaya; great-great-grandchildren, Harmony, Antione, and Promise; and sisters, Ocie and Edna Mae. Jessie was preceded in death by her mother; a daughter, Betty; granddaughter, LaCrysta; grandson, Tyrone; and brother, Eugene. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2009, with the Rev. Matthew Brown presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
