MADISON-Roy W. Kruger, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. He was born on May 23, 1929, in Madison, the son of Roy and Hazel (Dunbar) Kruger. Roy married Geraldine "Inez" Craig on March 27, 1948. He worked as an animal control officer for the City of Madison for 24 years. Roy later worked part-time for Choles Floral. Roy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Inez; six children, Tom (Jynon), Gary, Susan (Jeff) Barker, Craig (Jane), Jill (Ben) Olson, and Jack; 17 grandchildren, Jesse, Chad, Matt, Jenna, Teri, Tommy, Christopher, Christopher, Lisa, Jamie, Chrissie, Donnie, Frank, Tyrone, Alison, Erin, and Ashley; 10 great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Eli, Maddy, Mikala, Alissa, Zaria, Cierra, Jake, Cory, Anthony and Hunter, due in April; and his canine companions, Goldie and Polly. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Gary; and two daughters-in-law, Nancy and Sharon Kruger. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 11 a.m., at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, with the Rev. Bernt Tweit presiding. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Giesen, the doctors and nurses at UW Hospital, and HospiceCare for all of their care and support of Roy. We love and will miss you.

Im sorry to hear of your loss. I will be praying for your family to get though this hard time but just remember he is with the lord and as St. John 12:23-26 say and Jesus answered them saying the hour has come for the son of man to be glorified Truly truly I say to you unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies it remains alone but if it dies it bears much fruit He who loves his life loses it and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal If anyone serves me he must follow me and where I am there my servant will be also if anyone serves me the father will honor him. God Bless your Family
