McNutt, Eugenia "Jean" (Bartlett) WISCONSIN DELLS/NEKOOSA/MADISON-Eugenia "Jean" (Bartlett) McNutt, born on Dec. 28, 1916, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2009, in Madison. The daughter of Walter and Nina (Barker) Bartlett, Jean grew up on a farm in Donnellson, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1940, prepared for a long career as an elementary and middle school teacher and principal, mostly with Baraboo public schools. Along with her husband, Verl "Mac" McNutt, Jean owned and operated the Rocking Chair Resort and The Wonder Spot in Wisconsin Dells. Jean lived on Lake Camelot in Nekoosa from 1976 until 1999, when she moved to Oakwood Village East in Madison. She was involved with the United Church of Christ in Nekoosa and continued her church involvement at Oakwood, participating in the choir and in Bible study. Jean cared deeply for her various pets over the years, most famously her cats, Cindy, Pixie and Patty. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Storm and Lois (Dave) McClyman, who gave her 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Verl McNutt; son-in-law, David Storm; and two brothers, Ralph Bartlett and Harold Bartlett. a memorial service will be held at OAKWOOD VILAGE EAST, TRE OF LIFE CHAPEL, 5565 tancho Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on saturday, April 11, 2009. Visitation will be at the chapel from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to Oakwood Village East or HospiceCare Inc.
