Obituary

Catherine M. Quigley , 49, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2009 at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. She was born November 13, 1959 in Pomona, CA, and raised in Chino, CA. Cathie graduated from Chino High School where she had a great circle of friends, enjoyed being song leader, homecoming princess, played softball , field hockey and track & field. After high school Cathie studied at Cal Poly, Pomona. After school, Cathie entered the optometric field as a technician for her father and later became a Sales Rep for a large optical company, working her way up to National Sales Manager and featured speaker at national expos. Cathie was always an ardent sports fan; while in So. Cal. she loved her LA Lakers & Dodgers and more recently became an enormous fan of the Badgers, Brewers and especially the Packers. No one could beat her at sports trivia. Cathie met and married Bill in Southern California and they soon moved to Northern California where they were blessed with their son Griffin. They desired the best possible world for Griffin to grow up in, so they relocated to Middleton in 1999. Cathie taught herself to be a gourmet cook and one of her greatest pleasures was cooking for her family friends and neighbors. She belonged to Asbury United Methodist Church where she enjoyed serving and volunteering for others; especially if it involved cooking for them. Catherine was a very compassionate, caring person who loved helping others. The most important thing to her was her love for The Lord. We know that she is worshiping and praising Jesus right now. Her family rejoices in knowing that she is in His presence, in the most beautiful place that is beyond human imagination; Heaven. Praise The Lord! Cathie is survived by her husband, Bill Quigley, their son Griffin, her parents Harold & Dorothy Courtney, her brothers Ken and Daniel Courtney and 5 nieces. A Memorial Service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6101 University Ave., Madison at 2PM on Friday, March 27, 2009. The family would like to thank the staff & volunteers of the Don & Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center of Madison for giving Catherine such wonderful care. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suggests donations to the Don & Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center at 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy, Madison, WI. 53711.
