Mary Williams

MIDDLETON-Mary Audrey Williams, age 85, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2009. She was born on December 14, 1923, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Eldon M. And Agnes C. (Boese) Whitmore. Mary was united in marriage to Frederick J. Westgate on November 9, 1946 in Beaver Dam. She then married Milton H. Williams on June 20, 1972 in Royal Oak, Michigan. He preceded her in death. Mary graduated from Beaver Dam High School in June 1941, and from the UW-Madison in June 1945. She taught elementary school in Clawson, MI., for many years. Upon her retirement from teaching, she worked for the MN Historical Society and became an accomplished authority on Victoria-era furniture and decor. She was active many years in the Tarpon Springs, Florida Unitarian Church. Mary is survived by four daughters, Maureen (Larry) Wiseman of Flat Rock, MI., Joan (Richard) Leffler, of Madison, Deborah (Jeff) Hurff of Quincy, CA., and Julie Westgate of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; a step-daughter, SueAnne (Jack) Kirkham of Fridley, MN., her first husband, Frederick J. Westgate of Middleto; three grandchildren, Larry (Samantha) Kozloff, Jr., Brian (Della) Kozloff and Peter (Sara) Kozloff; and three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Kimberly and Nicholas Kozloff. She was preceded in death by her parents,, an infant sister, Jeanette Whitmore and her husband, Milton H. Williams. Private services will be held at a later date. Its been a long journey, now its time to rest. May your spirit find peace; know that those you leave behind love you always.
